Improvement Programme

When North Lincolnshire Homes took over the management of the housing stock from North Lincolnshire Council in February 2007, we pledged to carry out a major scheme of improvements – with around £125 million to be spent on properties over a five year period.

Our aim is to bring all our homes up to the Housing Corporation's Decent Homes Standard. The success of the improvement works is top of our agenda and it is very satisfying to see the progress.

As each week goes by, more and more houses are being modernised, which is having a direct and positive effect on our tenants’ lives. This is pleasing for both us as an organisation, but also on a human level.

But we are not finished yet, and there is a long way to go. We are determined to complete the job we pledged when we took over in February 2007.

Improvement work on houses has included the following:

  • Double-glazed windows to every property
  • Modern secure doors
  • Modern bathrooms, including showers, extractor fans and new tiling/flooring
  • Modern kitchens, including extractor fans, new flooring with choices for tenant's over the design and layout
  • Fuel efficient central heating systems
  • Electrical re-wires
  • Environmental work such as fencing, the creation of off street parking and improvements to footpaths
