What is the Menu of Options?
There are numerous ways in which you can get involved with North Lincolnshire Homes - so many in fact, that we have devised our very own 'Menu of Options'.
The 'Menu of Options' sets out some starters for you to sample before you decide to delve into the main courses, such as joining a Residents Association, or becoming a Tenant Inspector.
As a side dish you can opt for easy input straight from your own home and for dessert why not try a focus group or estate inspection.

How the Menu of Options was formed
The menu of options was formed to enable tenants' to get involved with North Lincolnshire Homes in a variety of ways.
During a meeting held on 19th November 2007; 18 tenants, 1 leaseholder and 3 members of North Lincolnshire Homes staff assessed the impact that Resident Involvement was having, and ways in which the residents could further their involvement.
At the meeting it was decided that:
-
The Reading Panel ceases to exist – being replaced by the quick response e-mail group
-
Work for Homes to continue as a sub group of Community Voice
-
Sheltered Housing Panel to continue in its current form
-
Leaseholder Group meetings to continue on an annual basis
-
Special Interest Group to continue meeting every 6 months
-
Empty Homes/Voids group to be discontinued as the work is now undertaken by resident tenant inspectors
-
Tenant Inspectors to take a fresh look at their remit
-
Resident Associations to continue
-
Community Voice to continue but also be encouraged to look at how it can become more representative of the tenant population
There were also a number of various ideas put forward at the workshop on ways that resident involvement opportunities could be seized upon. They included:
-
Improve the North Lincolnshire Homes website
-
Use opinion polls on the website
-
Generate a dedicated email address for tenants comments
-
Expand the ways in which tenants can reach North Lincolnshire Homes – use of text messaging and e-mail for example
-
Introduce housing surgeries where required
Taking these ideas from the workshop, North Lincolnshire Homes produced the Menu of Options, a scheme offering tenants the various ways that they can become involved with us.
