North Lincolnshire Homes is a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) that currently owns and maintains almost 10,000 homes across the whole of the North Lincolnshire region. As a registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee, we cannot trade for profit; meaning that all income must be reinvested into the organisation to maintain homes, improve services and finance new builds.
North Lincolnshire Homes formed in February 2007 following the transfer of homes from North Lincolnshire Council
and currently employs in excess of 290 dedicated members of staff; including a strong team of trade workers in our Technical Services department.
Managing North Lincolnshire Homes
The Board
has overall legal responsibility for governing North Lincolnshire Homes. All Board Members are volunteers and do not get paid (other than for claiming out-of-pocket expenses). The Board is made up of fifteen seats; five for tenant volunteers, five for independent members and five for North Lincolnshire Council nominees.
North Lincolnshire Homes Chief Executive, the Executive Team and their staff are paid to manage the organisation on a day-to-day basis.
Our Vision, as North Lincolnshire’s largest social landlord, is to “Inspire Our People and Partners To Make Positive Differences”.
Through inspiring our people, customers and key stakeholders we can help realise their full potential and maximise opportunities through effective partnership working in order to build successful communities.
How customers, staff and other organisations feel about us is very important to us. How we do things is as important as what we do. We aim to demonstrate the following values in all we do.
- Invest In Our People,
- Work Together As One Team,
- Be Customer Focused,
- Be Respectful And Honest,
- Be Responsible and Accountable,
- Be Positive and Care about what we do,
- Welcome Challenges,
- Value Relationships with our Partners,
- Deliver the Highest Standards, and
- Continuously Improve
We recognize that our staff are our best asset, therefore we will invest in their development to ensure we have a highly skilled, trained and motivated workforce.
Corporate Objectives
North Lincolnshire Homes has developed key Corporate Objectives which are central to helping us to achieve our vision. The objectives create the framework for measuring performance across the organisation and form the basis of operational, team and individual plans.
They are:
- Delivering excellent services and homes.
- Ensuring customers are at the heart of the business.
- Maximising resources and opportunities.
National Housing Federation Code of Governance
North Lincolnshire Homes (NLH) has adopted the National Federation (NHF) Code of Governance.
The code, which has been agreed by the Board, ensures that we have structures, systems and processes in place to deliver our aims, objectives and intended outcomes for tenants and potential tenants in an effective, transparent and accountable way.
To meet these requirements, we must establish and maintain clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for our Board, Chair and Chief Executive, and report our arrangements annually to the TSA (Tenant Services Authority).
